I love green juice. It is a great way to get in my greens when I am especially busy. It is also a great meal replacement on the go. This is especially great to do in the summer with the farmer's markets but right now I am buying from Imperfect Produce and get the ingredients delivered right to the house.
I usually will make 2- 1/2 gallon container that I store in dark growlers so light does not alter it.
At home, my juicer is an Omega juicer that separates the juice from the pulp. (I personally don't like the pulp in my juice but this does not go to waste as I cook it down to add to the homemade dog food for our pup, Sophie.)
At the boat, I have a cheap juicer that got at Walmart. Doesn't do as nice of a job on emulsifying the greens but does the trick in a pinch.
Recipe: Green Juice
For 1/2 Gallon
4-5 large organic carrots
1/2 bunch of organic celery
1-2 handfuls of organic spinach or kale or mix
2-3 large organic cucumbers
3 large or 5 small organic apples
1/4-1/2 lemon
Direction:
Juice per juicer instructions. If juice does not equal the 1/2 gallon either juice more veggies or add water.
Enjoy!
(Don't forget to put the pulp in compost pile or add to soup. (I juice the cucumber pulp separate))
